Arley Hall & Gardens

This impressive stately home has superb, preserved features including ceilings, oak panelling, fireplaces and stained contents that give the Hall a warm, inviting feel and historical feeling. The gardens cover eight acres and can take several hours to walk around and is beautifully designed and filled with a wide variety of flowers, plants and trees.

Knutsford

This characterful, market town is buzzing with a high street of shops and plenty of independent establishments in previously 17th and 18th-century houses and shops all with the Tudor look and black timber. Head for the Knutsford Heritage Centre to learn more about the historical influence of the town and the buildings listed on the National Heritage List. The town has strong connections to the author Elizabeth Gaskell. It’s more than just a shopping day out.

Tatton Park

One of the grandest historic estates in the UK, Tatton Park, is National Trust property and boasts a neoclassical mansion, 50 acres of gardens, a deer park that covers 1,000 acres and a working farm. There is the Tatton Park Old Hall, too, which is believed to be haunted. With shopping and dining facilities as well; its a park worth a visit for a great family day out.

Dunham Massey

This is a place to head to whatever the season with wildlife, a Georgian house filled with ancient artefacts and a far-reaching history dating back to the empire. The gardens and parklands are extensive, with over 300 acres there’s plenty of places to explore and discover. Wildlife is in abundance with the honeybees, that have been in the gardens for over 10 years, you’ll be able to spot two of the hives in the Rose Garden, to the fallow deer that roam the estate. Looked after by the National Trust.
